This means cutting the board cleanly, and getting your joins right. If you're not a joiner by trade, or don't have a full range of tools that the real professionals use, chances are you're going to be disappointed with the outcome, no matter how good your handiwork.
Letting you in on a little secret, the professionals don't do it themselves anyway - they just plan the job, sort out their measurements and then order the boards precut from us!
