Norman Manufacturing was established as a cabinet making service in 1983 when Trevor Norman's employer folded. Seeing the need for a high quality service in the market, Trevor took the opportunity to go into business for himself, and the business opened with a small workshop under a house in Brisbane's Bray Park.

Before long, our involvement in shopfitting came about late one night in the early eighties when Trevor helped rescue an Australia Post project by taking on a fitout job for them at the last-minute. The job was completed successfully and after one thing led to another, Norman Manufacturing was awarded the national contract for their Corporate shops and offices.

As the business rapidly grew, Trevor has always focussed on helping out his cabinetmaking and shopfitting clients in every way possible. Noticing that many shopfitters weren't taking advantage of the benefits that could be reaped by accurately prefabricating most of the job in a controlled facility, Trevor saw a place in the market for a business that would do so.

By the mid eighties, where others installed automation here and there, we were the first company in Queensland to install a suite of computer controlled equipment that integrated everything from beamsaws to CNC routers. With continued growth, we progressively moved to larger premises in Brendale on Brisbane's Northside.

Since those humble beginnings, we have continued this industry-leading practice by incorporating the latest in technological advances into our current 1200 square metre facility.

We provide our shopfitting and joinery services to a number of Australia's premier project management firms, and have delivered fitouts for Bankwest, Borders, the ABC Shop and many others. The projects we've been involved in number in the hundreds.
